Pixie Plants

At a local gardening store the other day, I came across a delightful surprise.
A whole section was dedicated to the making of fairy gardens.
I decided to start one as well to here are some supplies I bought.

Various plants,

A mushroom decoration,
And a tiny swing fit for a fairy.
Keep posted for pt.2, My Fairy Garden.

Tella me about Nutella

For those not familiar with the term nutella,
it is a chocolaty hazelnut spread which some may call the "new peanut butter"
Recently, at a local farmers market, a stand called Eat Bake Love,
has been selling these delectable chocolate hazelnut cookies.
After one bite, I knew i had to find a recipe and i found one courtesy of food network, quite close to the original.
Click Here to find the recipe.
I highly suggest you try them out.
Have you ever replicated your favourite recipes?

Tea TIme

At last, it was time for our High tea.
But still even the day of the event there was still work.

Making the sandwiches,
Stirring the cold drinks (for non-tea drinkers)
and baking ( / buying) the desserts.

Minutes before the guests arrived, the table was transformed into something that could of came out of Downton Abbey.

All the guests were elegantly dressed in all there best clothes but still showing a flair of their personality.

After tea was drank,
Sandwiches were chomped
and the delicious desserts were all gone,
the tea party had come to an end.

Have you ever had a big party homemade?

Read It

Today,I will be
telling you my favourite reads.
In my opinion, these books are great for everyone 10+.

One of my favourite series is the Mysterious Benedict Society all by Trenton Lee Stewart.

The first book is about an orphaned boy gets the opportunity along with 3 other children to work alongside mr.Benedict and defeat a "villainous" man with wit and their individuality.
There are 2 other books in this series that I still haven't read yet but I'm sure they're great

One of my other favourite books is the Penderwicks By Jeanne Birdsall.
It's about 4 sisters and their single dad going to stay a summer cottage where they meet some interesting people.
There is also 2 more books in this series that again, I still haven't read.

Another one of my favourite series is the  Land Of Stories books by the one and only Chris Colfer.

They are about Conner and Alex Bailey, twins who have access to a world where all the storybook characters you've ever known live.

Last, but not least, The Neil Flambe capers by Kevin Sylvester.
These 4 books (I know I only show 3, but there is 4) are about a red-headed, short- tempered ,14 year old wonderchef that embarks on food-involved mysteries around the world.

What are your favourite series?

Purple Perfection

Whenever my Filipino grandma declares that she will make ube, I jump with joy.
This rare treat is a pudding like dessert mostly made of either taro root or purple yam.
Other ingredients include sugar, vanilla extract, sweetened condensed milk and violet food paste.
After boiling the taro root, blending it in the food processor and adding the remaining ingredients, you get a luscious, steaming bowl of purple perfection.
Here are some of my favourite uses for ube.

Pastillas, Filipino milk candy,

Stickos, long cookies filled with ube

and even though this isn't quite ube but a different way to use taro,
taro balls in a warm coconut milk.
but none of these compare to the original.
